Fivetran

Fivetran is a data movement company whose platform centralizes data from SaaS applications and databases into cloud destinations, supporting uses that range from AI applications and ML models to predictive analytics and operational workloads. Fivetran works in the data integration category, where automated pipelines replace hand-built extraction code that data engineering teams would otherwise have to maintain. Its pipelines can run on-premises, in the cloud or in a hybrid environment, and it supports more than 900 sources and destinations, including ERPs and file connectors alongside warehouses and lakes.

Beyond ingestion, the platform includes activations that push data back into business applications, a Managed Data Lake Service that writes to open table formats such as Iceberg and Delta Lake, and SQL-based transformations run on a schedule inside the destination. Together these cover the load, store and transform steps of a typical analytics stack, which lets buyers consolidate tooling rather than assemble separate products. Security features include private networking, column hashing and private deployment, with certifications such as SOC 1 and SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA BAA, PCI DSS Level 1 and HITRUST, credentials that matter to regulated buyers in healthcare and finance.

Fivetran counts thousands of brands as customers, naming Autodesk, Condé Nast, JetBlue and Morgan Stanley, and highlights customer results at Pfizer, National Australia Bank and Coke One North America. The company was founded in 2012 out of Y Combinator, initially as a data analysis tool for scientists, and found its direction in 2014 after building a connector for a customer. Headquartered in Oakland, California, it operates offices in cities including Denver, Toronto, Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Munich, Novi Sad, Bengaluru and Sydney, a spread that lets a software vendor support customers and staff engineering teams across time zones.
