Overview
Vercel is a deployment and hosting platform where humans and AI agents build, ship and scale software together, and it describes itself as agentic infrastructure for every app and agent. Its stated mission is to free the world to ship what's next. Platforms of this kind sit between a developer's code and the underlying cloud, handling builds, hosting and scaling so that teams do not have to manage servers directly.
Vercel organises its offering around building agents, shipping applications and hosting multi-tenant platforms. For agents, it offers durable orchestration, sandboxed environments, an AI model gateway and a compute model it calls Fluid Compute. For applications, it provides global delivery, deployment environments, serverless functions and a web application firewall, while platform builders can use tenant isolation, domain management, custom SSL certificates and preview URLs. Deployment through the Vercel command-line tool, which supports building an image from a Dockerfile, suits both human developers and coding agents that work through scripted workflows.
Customers named by the company include OpenAI, Meta, Ramp and Supreme. Other customers include Notion, which runs millions of agent conversations a day on the platform, Zapier, which serves more than 100 million website visits a month, and Mintlify, which powers documentation for more than 20,000 companies. Because serverless platforms add and remove capacity automatically as demand changes, the same infrastructure can serve both modest workloads and very high traffic. The company's backers include individual investors from across the software industry, among them several founders, engineers and designers.

- Reproducing, disclosing, and fixing the libheif vulnerability with Hacktron and the maintainers
In August 2026, Hacktron reported what looked like a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in Next.js image optimization. Their investigation found that the vulnerable code was not in Next.js itself, but upstream in libheif, an AVIF image decoder used by Next.js, ImageMagick, WordPress, sharp, and much of the web.
