Overview
PBS Hawaiʻi is a locally owned, statewide television station that has served the Hawaiian Islands since 1965. The station is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, the sole Hawaiʻi member of the Public Broadcasting Service, and the only licensed educational broadcaster in the state. We advance learning and discovery through storytelling that profoundly touches lives.
Alongside national PBS programming, the station produces local series such as HIKI NŌ, INSIGHTS on PBS Hawaiʻi, KĀKOU: Hawaiʻi's Town Hall, Home is Here and ʻONO! Hawaiʻi's Food Culture. Supporters can stream PBS shows through the Passport service. Most of the station's funding comes from the community, including individuals, families, businesses and charitable foundations.
