Overview
Liliʻuokalani Trust (LT) is a private operating foundation founded in 1909 by Hawaiʻi’s last reigning monarch, Queen Liliʻuokalani, for the benefit of the most vulnerable Native Hawaiian children. Liliʻuokalani Trust was established for the benefit of orphan and destitute children, with preference given to Native Hawaiians, and serves thousands of beneficiaries through direct services and collaborations with community partners. Its team of over 200 professionals works to break the cycle of poverty for Native Hawaiians.
LT focuses its impact on three areas: Early Childhood (ages 0-5), Youth Development (ages 6-18), and Opportunity Youth (ages 16-26). We maintain a presence throughout Hawaiʻi with kīpuka (regional offices), as well as special initiatives such as LT Ranch on (Hawaiʻi Island), and Lydia House and Liliʻuokalani Center in Honolulu. Lydia House is a drop-in center for youth ages 16 to 26 on South Vineyard Street in Honolulu, while LT Ranch offers healing experiences built around animals, arts, and ʻāina. The company also provides trauma-informed social-emotional support services that strengthen connections between children and their family, culture, and community resources. An in-house research and evaluation team publishes studies on the wellbeing of Native Hawaiian youth, including a county-level brief on community resilience across Hawaiʻi.
High performers who are passionate about our purpose and mission excel at LT. We maintain a leading-edge “Total Rewards” program for our teammates that includes distinctive benefits such as unlimited, flexible time off (FTO) for full-time staff, 90 minutes of weekly wellness time, and a six-week paid sabbatical after five years of continuous service. Our mission:
To provide opportunities for Hawaiian children to realize their greatest potential:
Living healthy, joyful, & prosperous lives, contributing positively to their families, communities & the world. LT's core values include aloha, kuleana, poʻokela, and pono.
