Overview
SambaSafety is a provider of cloud-based driver risk management software for organizations with automotive mobility exposure, serving both employers that operate fleets and insurers. Its Risk Cloud platform draws on federal, state, local and telematics data sources, combining driving records, telematics, CSA and claims data into a single risk profile for each driver. Driver risk management sits between fleet safety and insurance underwriting, since the same data that helps an employer coach drivers can help a carrier price a commercial auto policy.
The platform offers continuous monitoring, risk reduction tools and configurable pricing solutions, including instant motor vehicle record (MVR) ordering through direct DMV connections in all 50 states, automated alerts on violations and license status changes, and more than 400 online driver training courses. It also aggregates data from more than 100 telematics service providers and provides analytics for benchmarking teams and pinpointing concentrations of risk. Pairing monitoring with training lets customers act on risk rather than only see it, which matters because a violation surfaced only at an annual review may go unaddressed for months.
SambaSafety serves more than 16,000 customers, including many companies on Fortune's Global 500 list. Its offerings address fleets, insurers and brokers, organizations accountable for public safety, platforms that qualify and retain drivers, and partners that embed MVR access and risk scoring into their own platforms. The company describes its goal as helping businesses and insurers evaluate and mitigate driving risk, accelerate product development, reduce crashes and foster safer communities.
Founded in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1998, the company has offices across the U.S. and UK and a team of nearly 350 people. Since driver licensing is administered state by state, monitoring that spans every jurisdiction spares multi-state fleets from checking each authority separately.

- CA Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program Explained
If you employ commercial drivers in California, the state doesn't wait for you to run an annual check. The Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program is a California DMV requirement that automatically sends employers a notice any time an enrolled driver's license record changes: a new conviction, a crash, a license suspension, or another reportable action.
