The company reports 279 million mobile customers and operates in 15 country markets, with more than 40 partner markets extending its reach further. Partner market arrangements are a common way for large operators to offer brand and roaming presence in countries where they do not hold their own network licence.

For consumers, Vodafone operates mobile and broadband networks, and in Europe it describes itself as one of the continent's largest providers. In its African markets the offer goes beyond connectivity into financial, business and merchant services through Vodapay and M-PESA, reflecting how mobile money has become a core service for operators in regions with limited access to traditional banking. Its business arm serves around 5 million business customers with connectivity, security, cloud and Mobile Private Networks, and runs an IoT platform with more than 215 million connections.

Beyond terrestrial networks, the company says it works "from the seabed to the stars", investing in subsea cable systems and satellite solutions to expand coverage to remote areas and bridge continents. Subsea cables carry the large majority of international data traffic, so ownership stakes in them give an operator capacity and resilience on long-distance routes, while satellite links fill gaps that cables and towers cannot reach economically. Vodafone frames this work around digital inclusion, and it also explores emerging technologies such as AI and quantum computing as part of its research activity.
