MERCURYS COFFEE CO.

Mercurys Coffee Co. is a regional coffeehouse chain founded in 1998 in Woodinville, Washington. From a single location, it has grown to 16 stores and a team of more than 250 employees. Most of its stores are in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Woodinville, Bothell, Sammamish and Fall City on the Eastside, the area east of Seattle across Lake Washington, while others sit further north in Everett and Bellingham. The stores keep early hours, with every location opening by 5am on weekdays and the earliest opening at 3:30am.

The company sources organic coffee from around the world and has run a roastery and bakery in Bellevue since 2018. It aims to use all-natural, minimally processed ingredients, and its milk is certified rBST and hormone free, with oat, coconut, almond and soy among the dairy alternatives. The menu offers 30 flavors and 10 sugar-free options, among them sugar-free white and dark chocolate. Customers can join a loyalty program and order ahead, and selected stores offer delivery. Mercurys also runs an online shop and sells its coffee wholesale to other businesses, channels that regional roasters commonly use to reach customers beyond their own cafés.

Mercurys was voted first in King 5 Evening Magazine's "Best of Western Washington" contest each year from 2012 to 2017 and again in 2024, against fields of 372 to 426 nominees. It also won the "Best of Kirkland" award in 2015 and 2016 and the "Best of 425 Magazine" award every year from 2015 to 2025. Its stated mission is to embrace people, foster relationships and spread love, and it names sustainability and social responsibility as priorities. Regional coffee chains often lean on this kind of community-minded identity to stand apart from national brands.
