Overview

Interscope-Geffen-A&M (sometimes abbreviated as IGA) is an American record label group, owned by Universal Music Group. The company was formed in 1999, when Geffen Records and A&M Records were merged into Interscope Records.

IGA also encompasses A&M/Octone Records, Aftermath Entertainment, Cherrytree Records, Fontana Records, Mosley Music Group, Star Trak Entertainment, Suretone Records and will.i.am music group. It also distributes newer releases by the UK-based Polydor Records in the United States and Canada.

Interscope Records operates an online store that sells vinyl records and picture discs, including store-exclusive and signed editions in colored vinyl. Its range includes film soundtracks such as Shrek, Reservoir Dogs and Empire Records. The catalog also features releases from bands such as U2, Sonic Youth, Smash Mouth and The Sundays, as well as anniversary editions of earlier albums.

Interscope's Definitive Sound Series One-Step line is aimed at audiophiles and collectors, offering limited numbered pressings cut from original analog master tapes on 180-gram high-definition vinyl. Releases in the series, such as Enema Of The State, are produced through an all-analog (AAA) process and packaged in heavyweight double gatefold jackets with a slipcase.
