Overview
City Rise Safety is a California traffic control and work zone safety company that describes its focus as protecting crews, work zones and communities. Its services include traffic control, flagging, traffic control plans and permits, traffic control for ADU installation, special event safety services, equipment rental, and custom and compliance signage. The company also offers portable restrooms, no parking notices and sign shop services, as well as product sales. Combining plans, permits, signage and field crews lets contractors, utilities and event organisers source most of the paperwork and physical setup a temporary road closure requires from a single provider.
Its affiliate divisions include City Rise Traffic, which works with the LiUNA laborers union, and City Rise Utility, which works with the IBEW electrical workers union. This split mirrors how unionised public works and utility projects in California are typically staffed, with traffic crews and utility crews often drawn from different trades.
City Rise Safety traces its roots to 1988, when it began as a single traffic control crew on the San Francisco Bay Bridge project. It has since grown to hundreds of crews serving all of California. Its locations span the state, including Chico, Citrus Heights, Lodi, Fremont, Martinez, Fresno, Bakersfield, North Hollywood and Westminster. That spread of yards from the northern Sacramento Valley to Orange County lets the company position crews near projects across most of California's major regions.
