Overview
Sound provides authentic and trusted financial support and services with full-service branches around the Puget Sound. A Northwest original since 1940, we’re one of Washington State’s largest credit unions, driven by the purpose of standing with members, employees and the community through all waves of life. The credit union was started by 51 telephone workers and operates as a locally owned cooperative serving more than 170,000 members, each of whom owns a small part of the institution.
Sound Credit Union offers personal and business checking and savings accounts, credit cards and loans, including auto loans, as well as certificates, along with a digital banking platform and mobile app. Members also have access to free workshops and financial counseling. The company is federally insured by the NCUA and takes part in community initiatives, including an annual Afternoon of Service in which employees support a local nonprofit organization.

- Foreign and Canadian Check Processing Is Ending
Starting November 9, 2026, Sound Credit Union will no longer accept checks drawn on banks outside the U.S., including Canadian checks. If someone abroad sends you money by check, please talk with them about switching to an electronic option.
