Overview
(NASDAQ: NVDA · $226.32 ▼ 1.3%) NVIDIA is a publicly traded technology company, listed on NASDAQ under the ticker NVDA, that has worked in accelerated computing since its founding in 1993. The company credits its 1999 invention of the GPU with spurring the growth of PC gaming, redefining computer graphics and igniting the modern AI era. Accelerated computing means handing highly parallel work, such as graphics rendering or neural network training, to specialized processors rather than general-purpose CPUs, which is why GPUs became central to AI. NVIDIA now describes itself as a full-stack computing company with data-center-scale offerings, and its product range runs from chips to complete AI systems.
Its data center lineup includes rack-scale systems such as the Vera Rubin NVL72, which combines 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs, along with the GB300 NVL72 and GB200 NVL72, which pair Grace CPUs with Blackwell-generation GPUs. The company also offers the Groq 3 LPX inference accelerator, the Vera CPU, RTX PRO Blackwell Server Edition GPUs and the DGX and HGX platforms, which combine NVIDIA hardware with its software. Networking is part of the same stack: Spectrum-X Ethernet, Quantum-X800 InfiniBand, ConnectX SuperNICs and BlueField DPUs link compute in what NVIDIA calls AI factories, while the MGX modular reference architecture supports hundreds of hardware combinations. Offering processors, interconnects, networking and software together lets the company sell integrated infrastructure instead of single components, which fits its full-stack positioning.
Systems of this scale are typically bought by enterprises, cloud providers and research institutions that train and run large AI models, and NVIDIA makes its data center products available through partners in the NVIDIA Partner Network. The company maintains localized sites for markets across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including the United States, Brazil, Germany, the United Kingdom, Mainland China, India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
