Credit Human

Chartered in 1935, Credit Human is a $2.9 billion federal credit union serving over 235,000 members across the United States. Headquartered in San Antonio, we are a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. Being member-owned means everything we do is in the best interest of our members, not shareholders. We’re committed to helping members create and maintain financial slack so they can stress less and live more.

The credit union traces its origins to twelve federal government workers in San Antonio and later operated as Government Employees Credit Union and then San Antonio Credit Union before adopting the Credit Human name. It operates Financial Health Centers in San Antonio, Houston and New Orleans, each tailored to the community it serves, and is governed by a volunteer board elected by members.

Its offerings include checking and savings accounts, share certificates, IRAs and MasterCard credit cards, along with personal, home, vehicle and education loans and GAP and credit life insurance. Members can access more than 55,000 ATMs worldwide through a partnership with Allpoint. The company also offers a Sustainable Share Certificate that helps fund eco-friendly home improvement projects. Member Relationship Specialists connect members with local organizations for utility, rental, food, clothing and legal assistance.
