Overview
Compex helps claims and legal professionals get the medical records they need, understand what matters and keep claims and cases moving. Since 1972, we’ve been a trusted partner to more than 5,000 law firms and 350 insurance carriers nationwide.
Today, we combine more than 50 years of medical records expertise with intelligent technology. From nationwide record retrieval and canvassing to Asabell™ medical records intelligence, IME record delivery and court reporting, Compex supports the medical record from request to insight, and the work that comes next.
With nationwide capabilities and technology built around the realities of medical records, Compex helps teams reduce administrative work, make complex information easier to understand and focus on the decisions that matter. The company was founded in the Los Angeles area as a California record retrieval business serving law firms, and it later expanded its work with insurance carriers before building nationwide capabilities.
Its client base includes insurance carriers, third-party administrators and law firms, with carrier work covering general liability, medical malpractice, vehicle and bodily injury, and workers' compensation claims. Compex also offers social media canvassing, and its court reporting service includes an online calendaring system, interpreters and videographers.
The company is headquartered in Torrance, California, and directs a network of 36 offices, including locations in Sacramento, Hinsdale, Tukwila, Philadelphia, San Antonio and Tampa. Record retrieval is managed through a client portal, and integrations and APIs deliver records and intelligence into the systems customers already use.
