Overview
For more than 75 years, BMS CAT has been a trusted leader in disaster recovery, restoration, and reconstruction. Since the launch of the BMS CAT division in 1981, we have responded to some of the world’s most devastating disasters, helping businesses and homeowners recover from fire, water, storm, and mold damage. The business traces its origins to Blackmon Mooring, which began in 1948 as a furniture upholstery repair shop in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved into flood damage restoration after a major Fort Worth flood in 1950. A related unit, BMS Global, handles transportation-related disasters worldwide, including aviation and rail incidents.
Core services include water damage restoration, mold remediation, fire and smoke damage restoration, insurance restoration, HVAC decontamination, drying and dehumidification, and biohazard cleanup. The company handles large commercial projects for businesses, facilities and critical infrastructure, and offers 24/7 emergency response through more than 35 non-franchised locations in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York. Its corporate headquarters is in Haltom City, Texas. Today, we continue to operate with the same customer-first principles we were founded upon, delivering turnkey solutions with speed, expertise, and compassion. With a nationwide presence and global response capabilities, BMS CAT is your partner in recovery—restoring both properties and peace of mind.

- Winter break feels far away, until the project calendar is already full.
For schools and campuses, low occupancy periods create a valuable window for facility work that is harder to complete while buildings are fully occupied. Now is the time to identify projects involving: • HVAC and air-system cleaning • Environmental or specialty cleaning • Moisture or mold remediation • Repairs and reconstruction • Deferred water-damage repairs • Deep cleaning of high-use areas • Work requiring containment or restricted access The earlier facilities, procurement and contractors align on scope, access and timing, the more productive that break window can be.
- From laborer to Operations Manager, every career has a starting point.
