Bang & Olufsen is a global luxury-lifestyle brand founded in 1925 in Struer, Denmark by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen whose devotion and vision remains the foundation for the company. The rich heritage built around the relentless determination to create products that push the boundaries of audio technology continues to place the company at the forefront of audio innovation. The founders, two young engineers, began working in the attic of Quistrup, a family manor in Struer, and in 1925 they invented the Eliminator, a device that let radios run from a wall socket instead of a battery. Over the following decades the company reinvented the turntable and developed touch-sensitive controls, universal remote controls and connected home speaker setups.

Today, every Bang & Olufsen product is still characterised by the unique combination of beautiful sound, timeless design, and unrivalled craftsmanship. The company’s innovative and progressive audio products are sold worldwide in Bang & Olufsen monobranded stores, online and in multibranded stores. The company employs over 1,000 people and operates in more than 70 markets and Bang & Olufsen’s shares are listed on NASDAQ Copenhagen A/S. The founding families held all shares until the company was listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange in 1977.

The current range includes headphones, televisions, speakers such as the Beosound A5, A9, Level, Emerge and Balance, and home sound systems. The company also sells refurbished products through its Reloved program and makes bespoke commissions through Bang & Olufsen Atelier. Its products use materials such as anodized aluminum, wood and leather, and sound engineers called tonmeisters spend months tuning each one.
