Overview

Apex Clean Energy was founded with a singular focus: to accelerate the shift to clean energy. Through origination, development, construction, and operation of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage facilities and distributed energy resources, Apex is expanding the renewable frontier across the United States. Our mission-driven team uses a data-focused approach and an unrivaled portfolio of projects to create solutions for the world’s most innovative and forward-thinking customers. For more information about how Apex is building the energy company of the future, visit apexcleanenergy.com.

The company began as a small start-up in 2009 and employs about 350 professionals at its headquarters and across the country. Its portfolio totals 25 gigawatts, and it has active wind projects in more than 20 states. Apex sells power from its projects to utilities, corporations, and the public sector under long-term power purchase agreements.

Beyond wind and solar, the company adds energy storage to existing renewable projects and builds standalone storage assets, develops community solar projects in distributed energy markets, and offers powered land for large-load customers that need interconnection, transmission, and water access. Its projects provide lease income to landowners, tax revenue and jobs for rural host communities, and support for community broadband.
