What happened to Proxycurl

October 5, 2026/Enrich Layer Team·3 min read

Proxycurl, the people and company data API, shut down in July 2025. If you built on it, this page covers what changed, what happened to customer accounts, and how to move an old integration to Enrich Layer.

Proxycurl shut down in July 2025

When Proxycurl was shutting down, we wanted to help its customers find a new home. We reached an agreement to transition them to Enrich Layer and set up a plan so they could move their accounts and integrations over. Enrich Layer never acquired Proxycurl and doesn't use its data.

Enrich Layer is an independent company

Enrich Layer is operated by Vertical Int, Inc. Our team has worked in B2B data for over a decade and supplies data to large companies. Enrich Layer now also serves developers and data teams directly through a self-serve API. The company is bootstrapped, with no outside funding.

Enrich Layer's data comes from publicly available web sources and licensed data partners, and runs on its own infrastructure.

If you still have a Proxycurl integration

Requests to Proxycurl's old endpoints stopped working after July 4, 2025. Enrich Layer's API is wire-compatible with those endpoints, so moving over means changing the base URL:

  • Old: nubela.co/proxycurl/api/…
  • New: enrichlayer.com/api/v2/…

Request parameters and response schemas match, so the rest of your code shouldn't need changes. The transition guide maps each endpoint, and the transition page includes a tool that converts an old request URL to the new format.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Proxycurl API still working?

No. Proxycurl's endpoints stopped responding after July 4, 2025. Former Proxycurl customers can send the same requests to Enrich Layer's API by changing the base URL.

Is Enrich Layer the same company as Proxycurl?

No. Enrich Layer is an independent company operated by Vertical Int, Inc., and it never acquired Proxycurl. When Proxycurl shut down, Enrich Layer gave its customers a way to move their accounts over. Enrich Layer runs on its own data and infrastructure.

Does Enrich Layer use Proxycurl's data?

No. Enrich Layer's data comes from publicly available web sources and licensed data partners.

What happened to my Proxycurl account and credits?

Former Proxycurl accounts and API keys still work with Enrich Layer. To check your balance, sign in at enrichlayer.com with your Proxycurl login. Credits from monthly and annual subscription plans expired at the end of each plan's term. Pay-as-you-go credits stay on an account for 18 months after its last payment.

Why do some results differ from what Proxycurl returned?

The response format is the same, but the values come from Enrich Layer's own data sources. A profile can differ from the one Proxycurl returned for the same input.

Where can I get help migrating?

Email [email protected], or start with the transition page.
