Overview
Founded in 2004, Anomaly is a difficult to define, but exciting to work at 'new model' agency. Driven by a passionate and entrepreneurial culture encompassing a diverse, elastic set of skills - Anomaly has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Berlin and Shanghai. The company takes its name from the idea of a deviation from the norm, and it says it was built as an alternative to traditional agency models that it views as driven by fear and survival. Its hiring approach centers on perspective rather than comfort, seeking progressive, diverse thinkers who challenge assumptions and push past convention.
Clients include: Clients include: AB InBev, Albertsons, Ally Financial, Amazon, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chevrolet, Diageo, Ferrero Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Google, HOKA, Jimmy John’s, LVMH, The Starbucks Coffee Company, Target, Topgolf, Visa and Zales. Anomaly's work spans integrated campaigns, activations, product innovation, design, long-form content and its own IP. Examples include a sensory experience for Don Julio at Mercer Labs, integrated campaigns for Starbucks and a global campaign for Johnnie Walker, a product innovation for Budweiser, and a redesign of the Speedo icon. For Bud Light, the agency produced long-form content spotlighting gender inequality in music.
Anomaly has been recognized for a very wide range of work and IP, covering both effectiveness and craft excellence including: Adweek’s 2022 U.S. Agency of the Year, Ad Age's Agency of the Year, Cannes Lions, Effies, Fast Company's Most Innovative, Jay Chiat, Digiday Awards and the Mashies - among the usual suspects. Anomaly has also been honored with a few less conventional accolades as well, such as being named one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2016 for dosist (a medicinal cannabis brand the agency created), Toy of The Year for Mighty Jaxx, plus multiple Emmys for a television series called Avec Eric, all of which the agency created with co-ownership.
