American Legacy Fishing & Outdoors, LLC

American Legacy Fishing & Outdoors, LLC is a retail company specializing in fishing and outdoor products, based in Evansville, Indiana, United States, and trading as The Rod Locker. Its range centers on fishing tackle, with featured products including casting reels from Bates Fishing Co. and Shimano and a casting rod from Cashion Rods. Specialty tackle retailers like this typically serve anglers looking for specific rod and reel models, often down to gear ratios and actions suited to particular techniques such as topwater or jerkbait fishing.

The company sells both online and by phone, and it runs a retail showroom at 500 North Congress Avenue in Evansville that is open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. In-stock orders placed before 2pm Central Time ship the same day, and items can be returned for a refund within 30 days, subject to a 15% restocking fee, with returned goods expected to be unused and in their original packaging. Pairing a walk-in showroom with online and phone ordering is a common model among tackle shops, letting them serve local anglers in person while also shipping gear to customers farther afield.

The Rod Locker describes its approach with the phrase "Loyal To Our Customers," framing loyalty as something the business owes its buyers rather than only something it seeks from them. Its staff bring a combined 40 years of industry experience, and customer calls are handled by Evansville-based employees familiar with the products instead of a call center. In fishing retail, where buyers often want advice on matching equipment to conditions and species, direct access to staff who know the gear is a common reason anglers choose a specialty shop over a general sporting goods store.
